Instruction: Taught the eight-week, four-days-per-week, eight-hours-
per-day course Graphics Essentials with QuarkXPress, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat; and a “Design Workshop”where all are used in concert, as they are professionally. This course focuses on software applications, design, typography, color theory, and prepress issues.

Instruction: Taught the eight-week, four-days-per-week, eight-hours-
per-day course Web Essentials comprised of a Technical Intro to the Internet, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe ImageReady, HTML, Cascading
Style Sheets and Macromedia Dreamweaver.

Curriculum Design and Development: Designed an effective
curriculum with suitable courseware both creative and production
aspects using custom and commercially available lessons, labs and
portfolio projects, recommended reference and reading materials, all
with the goal of making the student highly employable.

Instructor Development: Interviewed and recommended new
contract instructors. Trained instructors as needed to improve
software, design, typography, color theory, and teaching skills.

Program Development: Collaborated with other Lead Instructors to redesign older 11 week Graphics and Web Design course curriculum
into Graphics Essentials and Web Essentials, each as a standalone course.

Graphics and Web Design: Courses were taught with both Macs
and PC’s — all students were rotated between both platforms to
increase students’ proficiency and employability.

Promotion: Lectured groups at “Open House”, and student recruit-
ment activities about the Graphics and Web programs: software,
material covered, marketability of graduates, individual applicability,
classroom and coursework issues.

Traditional Media through the early 1990’s, then computer-generated. Clients include: Gannett Newspapers, Reader’s Digest, American Book,
IBM, Scholastic, MEM Inc, Faulkner & Gray, Chicago Tribune, Car & Driver, American Design Components, Rutgers Magazine, Journal of Emergency Medical Services, Sprint Graphics, LeCroy Inc.

• Advised and discussed with clients of the jobs plan which included
choice of media, number of colors (“spot” colors: one, two, or more; grayscale, line art, full-color); size of artwork, stock on which artwork
would be printed and other pre-press issues; delivery schedules; and multiple uses of artwork and pricing.

• Worked from specifications, manuscripts and materials supplied by
client to provided one or more preliminary sketches for client approval.

• Created artwork using various media: originally pencil, pen-and-ink, watercolors, color overlay films and patterns, tempera acrylics, and airbrush, on illustration board and plastic film. After early 1990’s, QuarkXPress Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dimensions; Ray Dream Studio/Carrara, other applications
